at first i saw this as a potential change of heart at Fox News. Then I watched it again. This really isn't so different from other things they show and harp on at any given time. The Patriot Act removes the privacy rights granted to clergymen and the church, it puts fear in the hearts of citizens when it comes time to disclose and challenge the government, but importantly, it stresses the need to challenge Congress. It was Congress who developed the Constitution, it was Congress who declared that every American has certain inalienable rights. Who is running Congress these days? Democrats. They leave out the part where the current president is republican, his office and name remain unmentioned in the whole piece. Instead, this guy says that Americans should stand together against Congress to take back what is theirs, because they are the ones allowing these continual little changes stack up to cause the 1984 Orwellian society.
Do I disagree? Not in the slightest. The Democratic party won Congress over in a righteous campaign to clean up the government, to hand it back to the people it was designed for, and they have squandered it. Made it all worse for the citizen and blamed it on the president. Unfortunately, the corruption starts at the top and goes all the way down in government. If anything, "Don't tase me, bro!", while in itself was a pathetic cry for attention by a conspiracy theorist/ complete nutjob, was also a sort of wakeup call to those of us who are afraid to challenge those who have taken from us what is guaranteed by our laws, free speech. Not only that, they are starting to take away our ability to be people and converting us into sheep, just as the guy said, by prodding and taking down our shining instances of courage, before it has a chance to spread.
Remember when we were little how cool it was to take those massive super soaker guns and hose each other down in war games in the backyard during the summer? When the best gun was the most accurate-looking, regardless of it's firepower? Take a stroll down a toy store aisle these days, water guns don't look like water guns anymore. Not only that, they have safety locks on them, a safety on a water gun. Who is this to protect? There are warning labels where there shouldn't be. Reading curricula in schools have been altered to a watered-down, non-violent version of itself. When was the last time you ever heard of someone reading "the Red Badge of Courage"? Now it's all about Harry Potter and it's fantastic story lines where the hero always wins by dumb luck rather than actual skill. Or worse yet, they are pushing books like "His Dark Materials" by Phillip Pullman in which children rise up and KILL GOD AND THE CHURCH, because they exact a set of rules designed to let people believe in something other than self, something more than just the day to day, I can do what I want mentality. There is no courage in someone who believes that there is nothing more to life than right now. Why should a person stand up for something if it means nothing in the long run, right?
The clip on Fox News, while clever and embracing the idea of patriotism in its purest form, is still right in line with their beliefs, democrats are liars and swindlers.

Well, aren't they?
Don't get me wrong I think that most politicians are wretched, however, I would dare to say the I am more likely to be lied to by a communist ...I mean democrat than a seperationist ... I'm sorry republican.
On a side note because I LOVE this joke
I would rather go hunting with Cheney than on a drive with Kennedy.
